Fleet 72 members range from young to old and from novice to veteran.  Some own Hobie Cats while others prefer to crew.  Our member’s interests include racing, cruising, week long sailing trips and everything in between. 


We are a family oriented, fun loving group whose common bond is a love for sailing Hobie Cats. We are fortunate to have some of the Pacific Northwest’s best small boat sailing waters within an hour’s drive from Portland including the Columbia River Gorge, the Oregon Coast and the lakes of the Cascade Mountain Range.

Fleet 72 also has an e-mail discussion group on Google where we share all kinds of sailing related information and find out who is going sailing next and where.

Fleet 72 is also host to the National Hobie Cat Association (NHCA) Division 4 Championship Regatta, “Smoke on the Water” at Skamokawa, Washington, the premier sailing event of the season.
